Cyber Essentials Knowledge Hub is based on a Confluence space and displayed using Refined.

Refined configuration:

Site name : IASME Documents

Subdomain : ncsc-schemes.refined.site

Custom Domain : ncsc-knowledge-hub.iasme.co.uk

Permissions: Public (no Atlassian login required)

Confluence space: Cyber Essentials Knowledge Hub https://iasme.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CEKH/

Site content is stored in Cyber Essentials Confluence space and placed in CEKH using Confluence ‘excerpt’ and ‘excerpt include’. This includes controlled documents, boilerplate text, and images.

Excerpts

Using /excerpt and /excerptInclude, text can be copied from one page to another. This provides a useful mechanism for copying controlled documents to the Refined pages and ensuring that the text on the Refined pages remains consistent. Any changes made to Master documents will be automatically propagated to the Refined pages. It also means that boilerplate text can be replicated across all relevant pages.

Excerpts also work for images, with one drawback : when links are embedded in images, these are restricted to the link given in the source image. Therefore images used for navigation cannot be create using excerpts and must be inserted manually and any links provided on the navigation page. Only where an image does not contain a link, or the image is only used for a single link specified in the excerpt source, can this method be used.

Creating Pages

For each page displayed by Refined, there will be a page in the Cyber Essentials Knowledge Hub (CEKH) space and a page in the Cyber Essentials (IGS) space. The CEKH page is created from a template and the content is provided by the IGS page. The template provides a way of creating a standard page layout for each type of page. Templates are stored in the CEKH space and are prefixed with TMPL. They can be viewed and edited via Space settings>Look and feel>Templates.

Pages appear in the Refined site in the same order and with the same page structure as the CEKH space. All pages under the Home page of the space will appear in the Refined site. To prevent a page in the CEKH space from appearing in the Refined site, go to Space settings>Manage content>Reorder and drag the page above the Home page in the list.

To create a page for the Refined site, first add a page in the IGS space under MASTER Knowledge Hub Structure. Select the area you wish to add the page to and click on the + button (“Create a child page”) next to the area main page. The page name should be prefixed with M (indicating Master).

If you had an article entitled ‘Example Article’ that you wanted to place in the Refined site under the Tech and Cyber Basics area, start by creating a page in the IGS Confluence space :
