Big Sur is no longer supported.

Update policy : Apple typically provides security updates for the latest 3 named versions.
The time between major updates to versions is roughly a year.
By default, MacOS downloads and installs updates automatically. Check that automatic updates are enabled.

How to check your version :

Click on Apple logo, then click 'About This Mac'. The version name and number will appear.

Security Updates :

Apple typically provide support for around three years for each version of the operating system.

Sonoma - released 26/09/23, support expected to end September 2026. Latest security update 25th October 2023

Ventura - released 24/10/2022, support expected to end October 2025. Latest security update 25th October 2023

Monterey - released 25/10/2021, support expected to end October 2024. Latest security update 25th October 2023
