Windows server editions typically have a ten year lifecycle. The first five years is mainstream support, the second five years are extended support. A server operating system is compliant if it is in either mainstream or extended support.

Extended security update program

Extended security updates (ESU) are supplied by Microsoft at their discretion and you should check with Microsoft if they are available and under what terms. Please note this should be considered a last resort and the preferred option should be to upgrade to a version in mainstream or extended support.
