  • Operating systems must be supported by the vendor which means regular security updates must be provided in order to fix security issues.

Windows 11 comes in different editions which have different end of service dates. End of service means that security updates will no longer be provided by Microsoft after a certain date.

There are four editions of Windows 11 - Home, Pro, Enterprise, and Education.

Home and Pro editions have a servicing period of 24 months.

Enterprise and Education editions have a servicing period of 36 months.

Windows 11 releases monthly security updates on the second Tuesday of each month.

End of service period

At the end of the service period the version will no longer receive security updates.

How to check your version :

Select Start > Settings > System > About
The edition and version will be shown under Windows Specifications.
